Migraine Awareness Month #7 Pretty Woman:

Pretty Woman: What do you do to look good when you feel like crap?

I feel sorry for any men attempting to blog about this one. lol. I wonder if any are.

Anyway I’m a sort of low maintenance sort of person who doesn’t like dressing up, fancy shoes, make-up, doing anything with my hair other than letting it dry itself and that sort of the thing at the best of times. If I feel like crap… that is not my go to place. I consider jeans, a t-shirt with my hair left as is and no make-up to be ‘my style’ and ‘how I roll’…. along with the hat and sunglasses of course.

Really what makes me feel good is having a shower. Getting dressed, opposed to staying in my PJs. As soon as I am dressed I feel like I’m getting somewhere and not wasting the day.

When I was working… it was dressing in something more comfortable than anything, looked good, but wasn’t going to cause any discomfort because the pain was already going to do that. And not wearing make-up because that is something that believe it or not doesn’t make me feel better… I can only wear the basics because I have very sensitive skin anyway. I loath the feeling of lipstick and bite my lips. I can’t wear anything on my eyes because I rub them a lot. So being comfortable as possible made me feel better.

So if I am all showered and dressed and do all the basic things it makes me feel a bit better even if I do not leave the house. When I get to this point I may be able to do something else… and whatever that something else at whatever the pace may be… that makes me feel productive and feeling even a little productive makes me feel very good indeed. Its like ‘There. Did something. Day is not wasted. Now I can just handle the pain without any guilt at all. Phew.’
