I wrote an article about gratitude and actually put it in the menu on my page. It was one of the things my psychologist has me doing to help with mood. A gratitude journal and there is some valid science behind it helping as well. This focusing on 1 to 3 things every day you are thankful for… small or large. Helps you orientate your day. Instead of focusing on all those little negative things that can stick in the mind with so much ease.
So what are you grateful for today?
I went out to visit a friend I had not seen in a little bit since she had moved. And we had a fire at her place. The weather had just finally improved enough for a good fire outside.
So certainly this weekend I was grateful for good friends and good weather.
The pain with the poor weather has been very frustrating lately, so taking a break to socialize with someone that is important to me means a lot. She has moved so we do not see each other as often. And I do miss our regular going ons quite a bit.
I had not anticipated the weather turning would bring on as much pain as it has. Perhaps I have this realization every year? Likely. I have been told winter is worse for us all, so there is that. The sudden chill in the air did settle into the bones quite well. So some respite from that is a relief.
You can be grateful for the smallest of things to the largest of things. Simple things to complex things.
I was grateful to have a completely relaxing Sunday finishing a book and catching up on some Sherlock Holmes on Netflix today. I do enjoy a good Sunday. A Sunday of doing absolutely, fundamentally nothing. Just relaxation.
