Do comment on at least 2 other blog posts in this linkup if you participate. Helping to spread the word on your social media is always appreciated, but not required.

This linkup starts on the 1st of every month. There will be 5 different prompts. It will close at the end of each month before midnight. All timings listed are in Singapore time(+8 GMT).
-
Pick at least 3 of the prompts to write about. 5 is best, of course! 😉

We also ask that you share this main link to at least one of your social media outlets within the same month.

Failure to follow these rules might get you blacklisted from future linkups. Let’s keep it fair for all 🙂
So it is December. And Christmas is coming. It can be a stressful time of year for us with chronic pain and chronic illness. I may not like winter but I Love Christmas.
De-stressing
I wrote a post about this some time back called Avoiding stress during the holidays during the holidays. Which I follow for sure. I do not like stress around the holidays. I like to feel the anticipation of it all. But this year I am quite stressed. With the lack of my short term being approved, I am just really stressed. With all the pain and vertigo it is just draining, and that makes me stressed.
But I try to alleviate this by self-care. Hot baths with Epsom salts. And writing helps me de-stress. I have been even reading a little bit when I can, which is difficult with the vestibular symptoms but it makes me feel good that I can a bit. And I am trying out some podcasts to listen to and TED talks. De-stressing is part self-care and part is finding things I can do instead of focusing what I cannot.
Resting
I have been resting, I’ll tell you that. I rest to do things. I rest after things. And I certainly take a good long lay down and nap twice a day just to function at all. Too much resting. So much resting my fibromyalgia is flaring up. But I need it right now and I have accepted that fact. All part of the healing process sometimes.
Finalizing
So I just finished the rough draft of one of my fantasy fiction novels. It needs to sit for a bit before I do the second draft. So I have to decide for December what novel to work on in the two series I have going on. It is a passion of mine. And I want to write the next books in those series next and not the unpublished series I have going on. Anyway, fun stuff.

Thanks for participating again, Nikki, always good to hear bits of updates about your life, and how it’s similar or not to my own. I’m really sorry to hear that you need to rest so much due to the vestibular issues. It can definitely be extremely depressing to be stuck for days on end like that. I hope you manage to find some relief sooner than later. Sending love x

Hi Nikki! I have been reading your posts over the past year thanks to Sheryl and finally got around to updating my blogroll with all the people who participated in A Chronic Voice’s December link-up party. I’m hoping to drop by more often. We’ve been following each other on Twitter for some time now.
Very sorry to hear that this holiday season was extra stressful. Wishing you all the best for 2019.
